(the rumphobs from "Ronia the Robber's Daughter")
Here are some photos from the workshop I led this pancake day (it so happens) at The Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. These children and their lovely Gran used different drawing techniques to draw their own forest, inspired by the exhibition at RWA "Arboretum". Then we went for a walk in the woodlands of Brandon Hill to find inspiration for drawing and naming wild forest inhabitants. We finished up with hot chocolate and me reading them from my picture book, "Right at Home" and "Ronia the Robber's Daughter" by Astrid Lindgren, which I have been making some illustrations for, (the rumphobs are shown above)

I'll be running a tree-themed workshop and story-telling at RWA on Tuesday 17th February.
Here is a section of 'Buhni and Mushroom', which I will read out if there is time after the kids' own drawing and story-making!
Here's the link to read more about the event.
It's going to be great and there will be hot chocolate.
I will write a blogpost after it's happened too.
